KEITH URBAN – LONG HOT SUMMER

In my opinion, when you think of country music, the artist that comes to mind is Keith Urban. All of his songs are catchy and are sure to stay in your head for a while. This song is no exception. Though it’s about young summer love, this catchy and upbeat tune is fun to listen to no matter what the season.

JASON ALDEAN – DIRT ROAD ANTHEM

Ready? Find the connection between the words “Rap Music” and “Country Music.” You have 5 seconds. GO! Can’t think of anything? You can’t really connect the two, can you? Well, with this song, you can. Though most would think country and rap are polar opposites, Jason Aldean’s “Dirt Road Anthem” proves that idea wrong. This song nicely incorporates country and rap together and, you would think that it sounds a little off, but that’s not the case. This song is so much fun to sing along to and is completely unexpected coming from the country genre. However, it’s sure to get you trying to sing along and…you’ll definitely challenge yourself to get all the rap words correct.

PISTOL ANNIES – HELL ON HEELS

I recently heard this song on the American Country Awards and I have to say that it quickly became one of my favorites. With one of the members being one of the most famous country artists, Miranda Lambert, this band is sure to make their mark on the Country scene. This song is different from most of the other songs on my list but you can still tell that it has a major country influence. It’s dark, edgy and twang-y tone makes you want to listen to it over and over again.

THOMPSON SQUARE – ARE YOU GONNA KISS ME OR NOT

This song is one of the sweetest songs I’ve heard yet. Not only is it a cute duet between the band members, who also happen to be husband and wife, but it also maps out the love of two people from the very start to their marriage, which are the best type of songs.

LUKE BRYAN – COUNTRY GIRL (SHAKE IT FOR ME)

Though Luke Bryan was known before, this song has definitely landed him a title as a great Country music artist. This song is catchy, fun and will totally make you want to shake it. End of story.
