By Melissa Beneke Aurora, Ill.-Halloween is coming up and so is the latest game of Humans Vs. Zombies.
The event is hosted by the Student Marketing Association . This campus wide, nationwide event was held last year as well. If you are unfamiliar with the game, Humans vs. Zombies is an epic game of tag that takes place over the course of a week. Everyone begins as humans and when they are tagged they get turned into zombies.
“There were about 40 people that played the game last year,” Virginia Smith, Student Marketing Association president, said. “Zombies ended up taking over, but there were winners from both sides at the end.”
At the end, there was a pizza party and the top 10 players were recognized and awarded gift cards.
This year the event takes place the week before Halloween, beginning Sunday October 21 at 12 p.m. and ends on Thursday October 25.
There are two additional days to sign up for this event:
- Tuesday October 9 from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. in the Dunham Atrium
- Thursday October 11 from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. in the Cafeteria
Also, it is important to understand the rules going along with the game. A number of meetings will be held for this reason. Meetings will be held on:
- Monday October 15 from 12 p.m.-1 p.m.
- Tuesday October 16 from 12 p.m.-1 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 17 from 12pm-1pm
At the end of the event there will be a pizza party on Sunday October 28. The pizza party is sponsored and held at Luigis for students attending the game.
