AU Photography Students Raising Awareness about Disabilities

Written by: Adrienne Somerville

AU Photography students, Brooke Belair and Emily Zavacki, collaborate on a project to bring awareness about disabilities to Aurora University.

This project will share stories of AU students, faculty, and staff living with visible and invisible disabilities. They are looking for volunteers to share their stories through photography and text to celebrate the differences that make them unique. The objective of the project is to educate the community and share the challenges and triumphs of living with a disability.

Brooke Belair states “we want to give people a way to share their story and bring awareness about their unique disability through an interactive photography piece”. Belair looks forward to learning about her fellow AU community members and sharing their stories through an exhibit in the library in the spring semester.

Share your story with the AU Community by the last week in December. If you are interested in taking part of the project, contact Brooke Belair at bbelair01@aurora.edu.
