Who Should Appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Written By: Alex Drier

The Marvel Comics have a lot of memorable and iconic characters. It’s pretty easy to strike up friendly (or heated) conversations/debates about the best stories and characters. With Thor: Ragnarok released last week plus, The Punisher, and The Runaways coming out later in November, I think it’s time to talk about the characters who have yet to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Keep in mind: this list will exclude mutants from X-men and The Fantastic Four (due to Marvel Studios not owning the rights to those characters). Also, I have very limited experience with comic books, so if there’s someone who you think should be in the MCU that I didn’t mention, I apologize. There may be minor spoilers ahead as well.

-Moon Knight
My first exposure with this character came from playing Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. From what I’ve seen, he seems like a pretty cool character. I could totally see him getting his own Netflix series or, at least, appearing on either Daredevil or Iron Fist.

-Devil Dinosaur
Yep, that’s a real character. I didn’t know this was a character until I played the Lego Avengers game. After seeing some other images of the character in comics (and the fact that I’m a sucker for dinosaurs in general), I want to see this character in the MCU. After all, The Runaways have a raptor named Old Lace, so I think the MCU has room for another dinosaur. I could see this character appearing in a Doctor Strange movie or perhaps the upcoming Captain Marvel movie.

-Fing Fang Foom
FFF is a giant talking dragon and that’s all you need to know. Iron Fist showcased a dragon but didn’t say if it was in fact Fing. Then, Defenders showed the bones of a giant dragon towards the end of the season. Whether or not this means that Fing is going to appear is still up in the air, but I think it’s going to happen.

-Venom
Let’s face it: Sam Raimi’s Venom/Eddie Brock from Spider-man 3 sucked. We need someone else to play Spider-Man’s greatest and recognizable villain. A lot of people want to see Venom in the MCU (even Tom Holland), though probably not Agent Venom.

-Spider-Man 2099
This Spider-Man is not Peter, but another character named Miguel O’Hara. Seeing as to how we’re potentially going to see Miles Morales (or Spider-Miles as some fans refer to him) in a future movie, it’s possible that we may also get Future Spider-Man as well.

-Taskmaster
Having played as him in Marvel vs Capcom 3, he seems like a pretty cool character. Maybe he should be in Agents of Shield or perhaps Captain Marvel.

Honorable mentions:
-Nova (as the Nova Corp has been established in Guardians this isn’t much of a stretch)
-Mysterio (Spider-Man villain)
-America Chavez
-Red Hulk
-Rick Jones/A-Bomb
-She-Hulk
-Detroit Steel
-Carnage
