Greta Van Fleet Plays at Lincoln Hall in Chicago

Written By: Dominika Wlodarczyk

On November 30th, Greta Van Fleet put on an astonishing performance that took place at Lincoln Hall in Chicago. While not many people have heard of or paid much attention to these incredible musicians, they are certainly making their way up in the music world. The band brings back the sound of classic rock that this world has been missing for decades.
Lead singer, Josh Kiszka, has a shockingly similar voice to Robert Plant, lead singer of legendary band, Led Zeppelin. Though they are two completely unique individuals, Kiszka’s performance attire and on-stage body language suggest he may have watched a few Led Zeppelin concert videos. The long, high pitch notes that Kiszka can attain had the crowd going wild. Aside from the amazing vocals, the talent that Jake Kiszka has playing the electric guitar is truly remarkable. Kiszka’s signature move is successfully playing the guitar behind his head.

The band consists of family members Josh Kiszka, Jake Kiszka, Sam Kiszka, and their good friend Danny Wagner. The boys not only deliver the sounds of classic rock, but their look also brings you back to another era. From flared corduroy pants, to floral button downs, these boys have style. The band has been together since 2012, but it was not until 2016 that they started getting the recognition they deserve. They have been selling out concerts across the nation, and their songs are finally beginning to play more frequently on radio stations. The band won Best New Artist at the 2017 Loudwire Music Awards. These boys are going places, and they will surly be back in town again soon, as Josh Kiszka mentioned Saturday night while playing the concert in Chicago. For barley being past the age of 20, it is obvious that these boys were born with old souls, and they have soul for rock ’n’ roll.
